Anthropomorphic Cat Vase and Potpourri holder, I.W. Irice made in Japan 1950's
This vintage I.W. Rice and Company Imports ceramic cat figurine measures about 5" tall. Made in the late 1950's in Japan. It is glazed in white with black spots, and as the label on the bottom indicates, it is hand painted by I. W. Rice.
The body is hollow, with a hole for placing toothpicks or potpourri in, though this could be used for a variety of objects.
It is in good condition, with no chipping, cracking, or repairs. The cat's green eyes, which are cold painted, do show some wear (see images.)
