This is an authentic antique Japanese Oshi-e (押し絵), or padded fabric appliqué artwork, mounted on its original board. The piece is a beautiful example of traditional Japanese decorative craft and features exceptional detail in the fabric work.
Subject: Bijinga (美人画), depicting a beautiful woman, likely a high-ranking lady or geisha.
Technique: Features rich, layered silk and brocade with gold metallic thread accents, and has hand-painted accents.
