This signed Italian Catamore 12k gold filled hand carved MOP cameo brooch is very unique bc it is made of genuine Black Lip Mother Of Pearl, as opposed to most of this maker's cameos, which are either made of carnelian shell or Mother of Pearl against Black Onyx. Black Lip MOP has different properties including the fact that it is more reflective and the pastel colors of the shell are vivid and really shine through brilliantly, as you can see in my photos. This cameo also has a slender design and would make a beautiful pendant, if converted. It is in excellent condition.
